Peter Olsacher, Carolina Gourmet's executive chef, has always been passionate about food and travelling. He began his culinary career in his native Austria, where he worked at Michelin-starred "Hotel Post" in Villach for 3 years under executive chef Heinz Wiener. He then worked for 8 years in the Cayman Islands in some of the finest restaurants and resorts in the area. Afterwards, he returned to Austria to serve as the executive chef at the restaurant "Oscar." He was awarded a Michelin star in the first year after it opened.
Peter then moved to Orlando, Florida, where he worked as a Corporate Executive Chef of a Fortune 500 company for more than 20 years. During that time, he enjoyed competing in Culinary competitions and was awarded 12 gold medals, including 2 during national conventions of the American Culinary Federation in Las Vegas and Washington DC.
In 2020, Peter and his wife, Mayra, moved to Mooresville, NC, to open Carolina Gourmet. It is his great joy to apply his 40 years of professional culinary experience to offer fresh, gourmet meals for people to enjoy in the comfort of their own homes.
